Assumes charge nurse responsibilities as assigned. 6 South Medical/Oncology This 39-bed unit has added telemetry beds to enhance care for our patients. While our focus is on the care of cancer patients, medical patients may be admitted to this unit as well. Length of stay is typically five to six days. Many of our patients return for treatment regularly. You’ll have the opportunity to use a broad range of nursing skills and learn new ways to administer chemotherapy and care for patients with radiation implants. We treat not only the patient, but their family as well. We incorporate pet therapy and music therapy into our unit to enhance our patients’ care. Nurses work 12-hour shifts with flexible staffing available to meet the needs of the employee. Continuing education is valued, and every effort is made to ensure that staff have the opportunity to fulfill their professional goals.
