The RN Unit Educator is a registered professional nurse who demonstrates expertise in a specific area of clinical nursing and is responsible for developing, implementing, & evaluating a program of education for an assigned population. Programming includes initial and ongoing staff competency (including a standardized department-based orientation), as well as continued education as identified by needs assessments and regulatory requirement initiatives. Applies policies, procedures, standards, and regulations as appropriate to their populations. The scope of the education will be determined through collaborative practice with department management, educators, and advanced practice nurses to enhance the quality and cost effectiveness of patient care; assumes the role of an educator, facilitator, consultant, researcher and change agent. This position will support education in the Perioperative, Cath Lab, and Interventional Radiology settings. What You Bring/Job Requirements In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following: Minimum Education Requirements Bachelor's in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited School of Nursing Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN), Education, or other related graduate field of study preferred Minimum Experience Requirements Four years of recent nursing experience Four years of experience in a clinical speciality preferred Two years of staff development, academic teaching and /or project development coordination preferred Requires advanced knowledge in nursing, evidence-based practice methods, and person-centered care concepts Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty unit Knowledgeable in the use of Microsoft Office products and e-learning platform License/Certifications Current Colorado RN license/ Current RN license from a participating state in National Licensure Compact Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association required Additional certifications may be required (refer to facility addendum(s) Professional certification preferred Demonstrates progress in obtaining staff development certification within one year of meeting eligibility requirements Physical Requirements Medium Work - exert/lift up to 50 lbs. force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. constantly Your Connected Community When people and places align, incredible things happen.
