What You Bring/Job Requirements In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following: RN License required; Current state nursing licenses or RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact Nursing Diploma or Associates Degree in Nursing required; Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required for new graduates, preferred for experienced RN's BLS from the American Heart Association required upon hire or within 30 days ACLS required upon hire or within 90 days PALS, PEARS, OR ENCP required upon hire or within 6 months One year experience preferred Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty Physical Requirements - Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly) Your Connected Community The Medical Intensive Care Unit at Mercy Regional Medical Center has eight beds and we generally staff for six beds. Our average census is about five and we occasionally go up to eight patients. Here, we care for a wide variety of patients who are mostly medical ICU and have some surgical and cardiac patients. Some therapies we use include ventilators, postarrest hypothermia catheters, arterial lines, IABP, Swan-Ganz catheters and medications that require frequent titration. Occasionally we will have overflow from step-down. We have an awesome team including nursing, a 24/7 dedicated intensivist and respiratory therapist, so we have a wealth of experience and knowledge on our team.
